Why Intercultural Training

International Assignment

US In or Out-bound, or Third Country Assignment

Research shows that how well transferees make the adjustment to life in the destination country contributes significantly to international assignment success. Annual NFTC and SHRM global relocation surveys consistently report findings that the most common factors in international assignment setbacks were spouse/ partner dissatisfaction, family concerns, and inability to adapt. Clearly, employers want to do all they can to support assignee and accompanying family adjustment as well as protect the enormous financial investment international assignments represent. Fortunately, they do not have to do it alone. GIS offers personalized, needs based, country-specific, intercultural training programs that:

Prepare the manager/ executive to conduct business effectively and forge positive business relationships with host-country clients and colleagues; and

Provide cross-cultural knowledge and behavioral skills that allow all relocating family members, including the spouse/ partner the very best opportunities for transition to and productive experiences in the new country.
