Consultancy Opportunities with GIS

Country or Region Business Experts

International Resources

Experienced Cross-Cultural Trainers

Thank you for your interest in working with GIS. We are at all times in search of country/ culture experts to participate as paid consultants in our cross-cultural training programs.

GIS intercultural programs for transferees, are generally two-days in length. We have a program format and manual that trainers normally follow. We conduct pre-program needs assessment with the transferees and match the training program schedule and content to meet the participants needs and interests. Programs for transferees generally cover the following topics:

Daily life information and resources available in the host city
Host-country background and current events
Social protocol, values, and effective communication in the host country
Business environment, protocol and expectations in the host-country
Spouse/ Partner support
Expatriate transition and adjustment
International parenting
Future action planning

There are usually two to three qualified consultants in addition to the trainer/ lead facilitator for each program. Depending on the trainer's qualifications and country knowledge, qualified consultants may be needed to cover segments of the program that the trainer may not be qualified to address. Consultants generally cover a specific topic in a two-hour session.

As all GIS programs are meant to be interactive, neither the trainer nor the resource-consultant make formal presentations to the participants, rather there is a discussion, Q&A, informal exchange of ideas and information--allowing the transferees to gain insight into their host country, culture, people, business and social protocol through the experiences and knowledge of the trainer and the consultants.

As a first step toward paid consultancy work with GIS you are encouraged to complete the following Consultant Bio Form. You may additionally e-Mail GIS your resume/ CV
